The Scientific Unit of the STCS (Short-term Countermeasures System, Italian National Fire Service) was set-up at the SPRINT-Lab of the University of Udine (Italy). The Scientific Unit will process the data that will be sent by the STCS personnel (deployed today in Ecuador), concerning the safety assessments of the buildings damaged after the earthquake of the 17th April.
